Rudolf Diesel – inventor of diesel motor

Have you heard of Rudolf Diesel? chances are you’ve not, most people will know “Diesel” only too well but little is known about the inventor of the diesel engine, Rudolf Diesel.

Born in 1858 in France but later settled in London due to the war breaking out, at the early age of 14 Rudolf wanted to be an engineer – he acknowledged this to his parents in a letter he wrote as a young boy. Rudolf went on to become a gifted engineer and created the Diesel Engine.

Why is Rudolf an unsung hero? Because his engine that was invented many many years ago remains today and can be seen in diesel cars, diesel generators, trucks and many more. His engine remains one of the most fuel efficient which is increasingly becoming more and more of a concern in our modern age.

Thanks Rudolf for your great gift.
